*Concept:
Create a 3-dimensional "space" within a shoebox-size diorama. Choose a concentration for your space that can relate to mood, tone, atmosphere, or emotion. Allow your imagination to take control of this space. It can be realistic or surreal.
*My Solution:
Mystical lands and surrealism are concepts that have always interested me. I alway think of the notorious "Alice in Wonderland" or "Harry Potter" novels to spark invention to my own surreal ad magical land. Using a very specific blend of warm reds and burgundy tones along with cool splashes of greens and teals, this piece evolved into a twist of vines and flourishes framing a centered opening to the viewer. The emotion within the framing vines is meant to be unsettling yet curious. With a light being seen in the distance, one is curious to adventure through; explore this unsettling scene to gain the prize hidden within which is light.
